WoW: Wrath of the Lich King in Alpha
WoW Insider is reporting that Wrath of the Lich King has entered the alpha stage of testing.
WoW Insider has confirmed through anonymous sources that the next expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, is in closed alpha status, and that various players are being invited to check it out, under a strict NDA.
While no official word has come out, this should come as good news to those waiting for the expansion to come out.
The development cycle follows a set-in-stone pattern that goes from development to alpha testing to beta testing then finally to ‘gold’ status which is the final released version of the game. That WotLK is in alpha is decidedly good news.
If we get any further official confirmation, we’ll let you know!

Breakfast Topic: Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween, everybody! The World Event happening today IRL is the basis of our favorite game’s Hallow’s End festivities. This is the day when we are officially allowed to knock on strangers’ doors and hope their Innkeeper will give us some treats. This is also when we can dress up as, well… anything, really, and not have anybody look at us funny. This is actually a great opportunity to do a little bit of cosplay even if you’re not really into that kind of thing. I mean, why not dress up as your favorite WoW character? In fact, some people thought that was such a great idea they decided to make Warcraft costumes for everybody.
What do you have planned for this Halloween? Will you be dressing up as a Warlock in Tier 5? Or maybe an Orc with the Arcanite Ripper? If you do plan on dressing up as somebody — or something — from Warcraft, don’t forget to send in your pictures! While some of you might still have some last minute Hallow’s End Achievements to pursue, I hope you get it early today so you can go out for what usually is a fun-filled night in many places. This is one of the few times that I’d actually recommend not playing the game for a little while. I mean, RL tricky

DK gear/flying bone chickens..
I’m very sorry if this has been brought up too many times-but it seems like there is a great deal of upheaval when concerning the DK’s gear in the community.
I personally feel like when I get to Outland, I have to take off the gorgeous gear that we are given to start with and replace it with a steely hodgepodge of suck.
Are we doomed to waiting for tier armor we have to compete for?
The DKs are incredible in so many ways. It just seems like a damned shame every time I have to replace a piece of armor with something that was designed for two entirely different classes.
Now, I’m not complaining-it just seems like a waste to stick us in gear other classes will have. I also feel it will be aesthetically displeasing to many; people love their aesthetics!
Just wondering if Blizz has something in store for this that I don’t know about.
Also: I am terribly curious. Are the skeletal gryphons’ model a placeholder? Oh god, I hope so…How the hell is a Tauren going to ride that poor, poor chicken/shoehorn? I’m all for the physically impossible-but it might as well look good, and hopefully more frightening. Wyverns are about 10,000x more intimidating than those tharr chikinz.
Thanks for
